Where am I?
Thank you for deciding to come to our wedding. The hard part is now to figure out how to get here. Of course if you live in town you can just drive here. Those from out of town will have to chose your favorite method of travel.
Flying
If you chose flying, we would recommend flying into Detroit or Flint as opposed to Lansing. This could save you over a hundred dollars, and the possiblity of delays. Our favorite travel search engines are Kayak and Sidestep. Both offer greater control over the search options than the bigger search engines.
Car Rental
From Detroit you have a couple options, first is to rent a car. Access to a car, or driver, is a must. Here are some options:
We have found Enterprise (from Detroit) to be the cheapest at $39.95/day for an econo-Car. From Lansing, National for $46.50/day. From Flint, Budget or Alamo at $38.99/day.
Shuttles
The next option is to take a shuttle from Detroit to Lansing. We recommend this company called Michigan Flyer. This takes about 90 minutes and costs about $25, and shuttles leave every hour. You will be dropped off at the Univeristy Place Marriott downtown East Lansing, and from here someone can pick you up or you can rent a car.
Friends
Let us know your itinerary and we can try to coordinate with others coming in, creating a car pool. Also there is a chance that we can come and pick you up.
Other Options
- For a bit of nostagalic romance you could take Amtrak.
- Greyhound is always an option if not the most elegant.
